The Secret of Life

A Public Speech by Master Wu Chueh Miao Tien, (the 85th Patriarch of Chan/Zen)

IRVINE, CA - 21 Jun, 2017

Master Wu Chueh Miao Tien, the 85th Patriarch of Chan/Zen from Taiwan, will share his wisdom attained through enlightenment, ways to transcend mundanity, and how to live a life with purpose and fulfillment on July 1st at the Irvine Barclay Theatre. Chan/Zen, originated from India 2,500 years ago and prospering throughout Asia, is a spiritual practice that focuses on purification and cultivation of inner peace and compassion. Although it is traditionally viewed as part of Buddhism, Chan/Zen is really a practice that can complement any religion or creed with its true essence surpassing language or tradition.

Many people today explore meditation practice to seek peace of mind, reduce stress or improve health issues. However, Chan/Zen meditation is more than that. It offers an opportunity to deepen and clarify our spirituality on the path our heart takes us. In the silence of Chan/Zen meditation, one can transcend the limitations of body, conscious and subconscious mind and become in sync with our heart and spirit to uncover the most natural expressions of compassion and joy in each moment of our lives. Heart Chan, Master Miao Tien's teaching, was brought to California from Taiwan by his disciple in 2000. Since then, many practitioners in California and across the United States. have benefited greatly from the teaching.

In 2012, Heart Chan, a California based nonprofit organization by the same name as the teaching, was formally established to further propagate this unique teaching to mainstream America. Over the past 17 years, Heart Chan practitioners have worked diligently to establish centers and meditation groups and shared Chan teachings at various universities, public libraries, corporations, and community centers across the United States. Master Miao Tien will deliver “the Secret of Life” and guide audience to experience the sacred light in this event.

The topics will include the evolution of life from inception to infinity, the essence of spirit, the wisdom of body, and teaching of Sacred Light Heart Chan. This lecture is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for those who are seeking a purpose-driven life.
